sachavonkarl74 Thank you Philipp Mourner for the review, that is exactly how I feel about this re-issued Opus Magnum of Azaghal. This band plays violent bellicose and raging Finnish black metal, the vocals are diabolical, the drummer is a human machine and the guitar work is outstanding. I may be biased towards Finnish BM lately, but this one is a gem. Favorite track: Pohjoisen Valkoinen Kuolema.

mourner One of their most varied albums. Apart from the usual evil Finnish black metal you have the slow and crushing Ex Nihilo, the hymnlike march of Black Legions of Satan and from time to time highly melodic parts and even some clean vocals and sometimes Nemesis sounds a little bit like pagan metal. One of the best albums Azaghal ever put out. Favorite track: Ex Nihilo.

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

"Senior" Azaghal need no intro, masters of the Finnish ABM scene, they are known for their immensely aggressive tempos and amazing Finnish frosty and evil atmosphere. While usually I like their raw production best, here is it somewhat more "modern" sounding, almost more reminiscent of that typical Swedish DM sound, which tool me by surprize at first. In any case, not their Opus Magnum, but a very solid Azaghal album!! sachavonkarl74
